Thomas Cornish (* 2000 in Sydney ) is an Australian track cyclist who specializes in short-term disciplines.
Athletic career
In 2016 Thomas Cornish was the Australian youth road racing champion . Then he concentrated on track cycling . In 2017 he won two medals at the junior oceanic track championships, gold in the keirin and silver in the sprint , and the following year he won two golds in the continental championships, in the 1000-meter time trial and in the team sprint . In the same year he became Junior World Champion over 1000 meters with a new world record time of 1: 00.489 minutes .
In 2019 Cornish was Australian champion of the elite over 1000. In spring 2020, he took part in the World Track Championships in Berlin instead of Matthew Glaetzer , who could not start due to an injury. Together with Nathan Hart and Matthew Richardson , he finished third in the team sprint.
