Thomas Dunhill

Thomas Frederick Dunhill (born February 1, 1877 in Hampstead , † March 13, 1946 in Scunthorpe ) was an English composer .

Dunhill studied composition and piano at the Royal College of Music from 1893 to 1897. From 1899 to 1908 he taught harmony and counterpoint at Eton College and at the same time at the Royal College of Music. Between 1907 and 1919 he gave numerous concerts in London where works by young British composers were performed. Since 1942 he was a professor at the Royal College of Music.

Dunhill composed operas and ballets , a symphony , suites and other orchestral works, chamber music works, piano pieces and songs .
