Thomas Wartenberg

Thomas E. Wartenberg (* 1949 ) is an American philosopher and professor of philosophy .

Wartenberg studied in Amherst , Stanford , Pittsburgh and Heidelberg . He was born in Pittsburgh in 1977 Wilfrid Sellars on "Reason and Truth in Kant's Theory of Experience" doctorate . His work took Wartenberg to Duke , Harvard and Auckland, among others . He has been a professor at Mount Holyoke College since 1992 , where he was an associate professor from 1984 to 1991 .

In addition, Wartenberg runs the Teaching Children Philosophy project , which tries to bring philosophy closer to children through children's books and visits to primary schools . He also writes film reviews for Philosophy Now magazine . He mainly deals with the philosophy of film and aesthetics . Further areas of expertise are continental philosophy , Immanuel Kant and 19th century German philosophy.
