Thomas Fleischer (born February 20, 1971 in Lörrach ) is a former German racing cyclist . Fleischer was active as a professional cyclist in the 1990s.

Life

Thomas Fleischer is the son of Marlies and Adolf Fleischer, both of whom are actively involved in cycling. He attended the Hans-Thoma-Gymnasium from 1981 to 1990 , where he graduated from high school in 1990. As a student, Thomas Fleischer won the Baden championship in road driving for the cycling club "Wanderlust" Lörrach.

As an amateur, Fleischer took third place in the Bayern Tour in 1991 . In 1992 Fleischer switched to the cycling team "Die Continentale" and was among others the teammate of Uwe Zeidler and Erik Zabel . At the 1994 Tour de Suisse , Thomas Fleischer was the best German 14th overall. He started the 1996 Tour de France for the Belgian Lotto-Isoglass team, but had to finish the race on the 14th stage. His greatest success was the overall victory of the Tour de Wallonie in 1996, in which he also won the 3rd stage. Fleischer finished a monument of cycling three times : Liège – Bastogne – Liège in 1994 as 77th and 1995 as 42nd and Milan-San Remo in 1996 as 150.

Thomas Fleischer lives in Lörrach- Haagen .
