Thomas Gautschi (handball player)

Thomas Gautschi (born January 28, 1976 ) is a Swiss handball player who plays for Adelma Sinfin Santander in the second Spanish division.

Career

With the TV Suhr , the left backcourt player became Swiss champions in 1998/99. The 2.02 m tall and 99 kg heavy right-hander then moved to Pfadi Winterthur , where he was able to celebrate three further championships and a cup triumph by 2005. In the City Cup 1999/2000 he made it to the semifinals. The following year he and his team reached the finals in the EHF Challenge Cup , where RK Jugovic Kac prevailed. In 2003/04 he reached the round of 16 with scouts in the EHF Champions League , but failed despite a home win at RK Zagreb . After a 2-year trip to Spain 2005-2007 he played the next season in Slovenia with RK Velenje . He then returned to the Spanish second division side Adelma Santander.

Thomas Gautschi scored 423 goals in 137 international matches for the Swiss national team between 1997 and 2008 .
