Thomas Griffiths (clergyman)

Thomas Griffiths (born June 2, 1791 in Southwark , London , † August 12, 1847 in Golden Square , London) was an English Roman Catholic clergyman.

Life

He was ordained a priest in July 1814 at St. Edmunds College, Ware, Hertfordshire. On July 30, 1833, he was appointed Coadjutor - Vicar Apostolic of the London District and Titular Bishop of Oleana . He was ordained bishop on October 28, 1833 at St. Edmunds College by James Yorke Bramston , Vicar Apostolic of the London District, with the assistance of Thomas Penswick , Vicar Apostolic of the Northern District , and Thomas Walsh , Vicar Apostolic of the Midland District . On July 11, 1836, he followed the death of Bramston as Vicar Apostolic.

After his death, he was buried in St. Mary Moorfields and later reburied in St. Edmunds College.
