Career

As a player

Hösele started his career at Grazer AK . In November 1986 he made his debut for the professionals of the GAK in the 1st division when he was substituted on the 19th match day of the 1986/87 season against Linz ASK in the 89th minute for Klaus Spirk . In the 1987/88 season he came to two appearances in the top division. During this time he began studying sports at the University of Graz , which he only completed after completing his professional career in 1993.

In April 1989 he scored his first and only goal for the GAK in a 2-1 defeat against FC Admira / Wacker . In 1990 he had to relegate the Grazers from the 1st division after slipping to seventh place in the middle playoff .

After two years in the second division with the Grazers, he left the club after the 1991/92 season. He then played from January 1993 at the lower class FC Gratkorn .

As a trainer

After his active career, Hösele first worked in the youth team of FC Gratkorn, as well as in the academy of the Grazer AK and in 2001 was the coach of the amateur team of the GAK in the Styrian regional league for some time. From 2002 to 2005 he took over the sporting management at the Akademie der Grazer before he was promoted to sporting director for the professionals of the GAK in the 2005/06 season. After the Graz bankruptcy, Hösele remained with the club during the regional league times from the 2007/08 season. From October 2008 he was also coach of the fourth-rate Styrian second team. For the 2009/10 season he was replaced in this role by Thomas Böcksteiner, who, however, remained as assistant coach. At the Grazer AK he also appeared for a few months after the bankruptcy as managing director of the sports facilities Weinzödl 1 Betriebs GmbH , the training grounds of the Grazer AK .

After the 2009/10 season he left Graz entirely and switched to FC Red Bull Salzburg , where he was the head coach of the U-18 team at the academy. After a season he left Salzburg again. In January 2013, Hösele became the coach of the U-18 team at the SK Sturm Graz Academy . During the winter break of the 2017/18 season he left the Graz Academy and became head coach of the third-rate amateurs of Sturm. In his first half season as a coach he failed with Sturm II on promotion to the second division as ninth in the table, seven points were missing at the end of the season for promotion. In the 2018/19 season he reached seventh place in the table with the Graz amateurs. In the regional league season, which was canceled after the 17th round due to the COVID-19 pandemic , they took first place in the table.

In June 2020, he succeeded Nestor El Maestro as the interim head coach of Sturm's Bundesliga team.
