Thomas Hohensee (* 1955 in Berlin ) is a German author and coach for personality development.

Life

Initially, Hohensee studied law at the Free University of Berlin , completing the first state examination in law . He moved to Hamburg for his legal clerkship , where he also passed the second state examination in law. He then worked as a legal advisor and debt counselor.

From 1997 he completed an apprenticeship at the German Institute for Rational-Emotive and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in Würzburg , gave up his work as legal advisor and turned to the question: "How can we lead a happy, fulfilling life in a relaxed manner?"

Among other things, Hohensee dealt with the way of life propagated by Buddhism. In several works he illuminates the thousand-year-old teachings of the Buddha from a critical, untraditional perspective and combines them with the scientifically proven statements of cognitive behavioral therapy.

In his books Praise of Laziness and The Success Book for Lazy People, Hohensee turns against pressure to perform and blind actionism. Instead, he advocates following the pleasure principle and realizing one's dreams with small steps.

Hohensee is married and lives in Berlin. He is an advocate of an unconditional basic income .
