Thomas Kade

Thomas Kade (born February 7, 1955 in Halle (Saale) , GDR ) is a German writer .

life and work

Kade has lived in the Ruhr area since 1961 and in Dortmund since 1980 . In addition to his writing activities, he worked as a cultural pedagogue at the Volkshochschule Dortmund in 1988/89, in 1990/92 at the Dortmund Literature Association in the project management of the European Literature Days, 1993/95 as a press officer at a science association in the Dortmund Technology Center, and as a project manager for the Dortmund Poetry Weeks ( 88, 90, 96 and 98) and the literature festival LesArt (2000). In addition, Kade worked as a bookseller and as a social worker at the Multicultural Forum Lünen (2011–14 and 2016). Kade has published volumes of poetry since 1983, as well as articles in magazines, newspapers and anthologies.

Kade has been a member of the Association of German Writers (VS) since 1987 (District Spokesman 88/90), founding member (1989) of the Association for Literature eV Dortmund (on the board from 1995–2009), founder of the Dortmund Authors' Round Table and its director since 1987 and founder and chairman of the support association LiteraturRaum DortmundRuhr 2018.
