The Toulaman River (also: Tweed River ) is one of the longer rivers in northeast Dominica in the Parish Saint Andrew .

geography

The Toulaman River rises in the eastern slope of the Morne Diablotins , just below the summit. Its springs are at 1200  m above sea level and are therefore the highest springs on Dominica. The headwaters border the catchment areas of Hampstead River in the north and Melville Hall River in the south. In its course, the river also borders the catchment areas of Woodford Hill River and Eden River in the north. In the Torenté area, several source streams flow together before the river enters the lowlands. It runs steadily in a north-easterly direction, passes Wilbraham , Mamridge and the Londonderry Estate and flows north of Douglas-Charles Airport (Melville Hall Airfield) in Londondery Bay after a course of 15 km into the Atlantic . At Mamridge, the Croix River joins from the left and north . In its upper reaches it runs through the Northern Forest Reserve .
