Thomas Klameth
Thomas Klameth (born March 7, 1943 in Bern ) is a former Swiss actor who became known in the role of Goat Peter in two film adaptations around the child character Heidi , invented by Johanna Spyri .
biography
At a casting in Switzerland, which is about the occupation of the title role for the film Heidi and the Geissenpeter went to Klameth jostled so energetic forward that a cameraman was aware of him. Thus the boy became the face of the "stubborn non-reader". 700 francs were his wages at the time. For his participation in the follow-up film Heidi and Peter , the first Swiss color film, his fee was 5000 francs. In both films, Elsbeth Sigmund was cast as Heidi and Heinrich Gretler as Alp-Oehi. Both films were great audiences, both in Switzerland and Germany. They were even successful in the United States.
For Klameth himself, however, his fame as Goat Peter was a burden, he suffered from the image that the role had given him in public. Since he was often teased about it by his schoolmates and also when he played football, he no longer wanted to have anything to do with the role and denied it. Since Klameth had never wanted to become an actor anyway, he didn't take any more roles after the two Heidi films. Only in radio plays did he take part from time to time. After his school days he devoted himself to studying economics, became a sports teacher and ran a sports shop in Küsnacht and was active in the construction industry.
His wife later helped him to overcome the trauma of his role with the result that he is now even a little proud of his impersonation of Goat Peter in the first German-language film adaptation. For the latest Heidi film , in which Quirin Agrippi can be seen as Peter the goat , he appeared as a VIP guest together with his son, the filmmaker Stefan Klameth, and confirmed the film with impressive images and a good cast.
