Thomas Loosch (born April 28, 1963 ) is a German disabled athlete .

Career

Thomas Loosch from Wattenscheid was born on April 28, 1963. He is severely handicapped due to spastic paralysis . As a member of TV Wattenscheid , he devoted himself to disabled sports. His sports disciplines were the throwing sports discus and javelin , but also the shot put . His performance in these sports was so good that he could soon be used in international competitions in the F 37/38 group. He took part in the Paralympic Summer Games twice with the German national Olympic team; first at the Paralympics in Athens 2004, where he won 2 medals, a silver medal in the shot put and a bronze medal in the discus throw.

He also took part in the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing, taking third place in the shot put with a width of 14.44 m, thus winning another bronze medal.

Finally he managed to become vice-European champion in discus throw at the European Championships in 2012.

In 2008 he was awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf for his sporting success .
