Thomas Möller (soccer player, 1967)

Thomas Möller (born July 12, 1967 in Beckum ) is a former German soccer player .

Career as a player

The defender began his career at OSV Hannover . Via Arminia Bielefeld and SV Arminia Hannover , he joined the then second division club VfB Oldenburg in 1990 . After two years he moved to Eintracht Braunschweig . On September 26, 1992, his doping test at the game against SC Freiburg was positive for the stimulant Prolintan, which the DFB neither punished nor published. After the case became known in 1994, the then press spokesman Wolfgang Niersbach denied damage because the game against Freiburg was lost.

After returning to his home club SpVg Beckum in the meantime , he returned to the Second Bundesliga in 1995 with VfB Lübeck . He stayed there for two seasons. In 1997 he switched to FC Gütersloh . In the second half of the season he came to VfB Leipzig , with whom he was relegated. In total, Thomas Möller played 121 second division games in which he scored five goals.

Career as a coach

He worked as a trainer for NTSV Strand 08 (2004 to 2005), for VfR Neumünster (2006 to 2007) and SV Todesfelde (2008 to 2012). In November 2012, Heider SV Möller presented as its new coach. He has been coaching the regional league team VfR Neumünster since April 2015, and has also been the sporting director there since the 2017/2018 season.
