Thomas McMahon (Bishop)

Thomas McMahon (born June 17, 1936 in Dorking ) is Bishop Emeritus of Brentwood .

Life

Thomas McMahon was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Brentwood on November 29, 1959 .

Pope John Paul II named him Bishop of Brentwood on June 16, 1980. The Archbishop of Westminster , George Basil Cardinal Hume OSB , donated him episcopal ordination on July 17 of the same year ; Co-consecrators were Patrick Joseph Casey , emeritus bishop of Brentwood, and Geoffrey Burke , auxiliary bishop in Salford .

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on April 14, 2014.
