Thomas Mohrs
Thomas Mohrs (born April 2, 1961 in Koblenz ) is a habilitation philosopher with a focus on philosophical anthropology , general and applied ethics , in particular applied ethics of nutrition, political philosophy and the philosophy of interculturality and globalization . He is a professor at the Upper Austria University of Education .
Life
After training in administration and graduating from secondary school, Mohrs studied philosophy, political science and history at the University of Passau, where he received his doctorate and qualified as a professor in the philosophy department. Until 2008 he was senior assistant at the chair for philosophy at the University of Passau . In December 2008 he was appointed adjunct professor at the University of Passau.
Mohrs is a lecturer at the University of Salzburg in the master’s degree in "Gastrosophic Sciences" (module "Nutrition and Values"). He is also part of the team of the "International Gastrosophie Forum", which has made the "food turnaround" its slogan.
From October 2008 he hosted a philosophical café in the “ProLi” culture and event center in Passau , and since 2009 he has been offering regular public events on current philosophical issues as well as occasional “gastrosophic matinees” with the award-winning chef at the Kepler Salon in Linz (Upper Austria) Georg Friedl. He is a member of the Bavarian Humanist Association and on the scientific advisory board of the Bavarian Humanist Academy .
Since 2011 Mohrs has been a professor at the Upper Austria University of Education in Linz with a focus on political education and ethics, responsible for the Philosophikum and the ecological agendas and head of the center for personality development and talent development. He is divorced and has three daughters and one son.
