Thomas Osterkorn
Thomas Osterkorn (born December 26, 1953 in Linz ) is an Austrian journalist .
life and career
In addition to studying law , Osterkorn worked from 1973 to 1975 as a trainee at the regional newspaper for the Lüneburg Heath . From 1975 to 1979 he was the local manager there. He then came to the Hamburger Abendblatt as a police reporter .
He caused a stir in 1986 when he obtained private pictures and recordings of Werner Pinzner , who became known as the St. Pauli killer . Pinzner's neighbors had found them in Pinzner's warehouse, which had not been searched by the police, and offered them Easter grain. In the same year he switched to Stern as an editor , where he was promoted to head of department in 1989 and managing editor in 1996. From 1999 to 2013 Osterkorn was editor-in-chief of the Sterns together with Andreas Petzold , and since then he has been the publisher of the magazine. Osterkorn remained editor-in-chief of the magazine viva! , a daughter of the star .
Osterkorn is very committed to promoting reading, here he is the reading ambassador of the Reading Foundation . In 2000, in his role as editor-in-chief of Stern, he founded the campaign Courage against right-wing violence together with his colleague Andreas Petzold and the Amadeu Antonio Foundation .
