Andreas Petzold

Andreas Petzold (born July 4, 1955 in Tegernsee ) is a German journalist .

Andreas Petzold gained his first experience with the press during his military service from 1976 to 1978. During this time he worked in the press department of the Bundeswehr and wrote for the magazine Heer . After attending the German School of Journalism from 1978 to 1980, Andreas Petzold was a reporter for the Abendzeitung (1980–83), deputy editor-in-chief of the magazine Quick (1983–1990), deputy editor-in-chief of the East German magazine Superillu (1991–1992), founder and Editor-in-chief of the women's magazine Allegra (1994–1997) and editor-in-chief of Hörzu (1997–1999). From 1999 to 2013 Andreas Petzold was editor-in-chief of stern alongside Thomas Osterkorn , and on May 1, 2013 he took on the role of publisher of the magazine.

Petzold has been active against right-wing extremism for many years . Since 2013 he has been the ambassador of the exit Germany initiative . In his role as Stern Editor-in-Chief, he also founded the campaign Courage against right-wing violence together with his colleague Thomas Osterkorn and the Amadeu Antonio Foundation in 2000 .

His grandfather was the German officer and resistance fighter against National Socialism Fritz Lindemann .
