Thomas Robert Byrne

Thomas Robert Byrne (born March 9, 1923 in Saint Paul , Minnesota , † April 5, 2009 ) was an American politician of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party and held the office of Mayor of Saint Paul from 1966 to 1970.

During the Second World War he served in the US Army Air Force . He later worked as a lawyer. From 1966 to 1970 he was Mayor of Saint Paul. In 1970, Byrne was a nominee for Democratic running for Lieutenant Governor of Minnesota. However, he could not prevail against Rudy Perpich within the party .

Byrne was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars .
