Thomas Schneider (born October 4, 1967 in Dortmund ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

The striker Thomas Schneider began his career at Dortmund amateur club VfR Sölde , with whom he played in the Westphalia Association . In the summer of 1986 Schneider moved to the second division club SG Wattenscheid 09 and made his professional debut on October 4, 1986 in Wattenscheid's 5-0 win against VfL Osnabrück . Two years later, Schneider moved to SV Arminia Hanover in the Oberliga Nord before joining the second division Alemannia Aachen , with whom he was relegated at the end of the season. He scored five goals in 38 second division games for Wattenscheid and Aachen.

Schneider then returned to his hometown club VfR Sölde, which had meanwhile been promoted to the Oberliga Westfalen . In 1992 Schneider was runner-up with Sölde behind Preußen Münster and with 17 goals second best scorer in the league. At the end of the season, Schneider moved to Arminia Bielefeld together with coach Ingo Peter . With Arminia, he qualified two years later for the newly created Regionalliga West / Südwest . At the end of the season Schneider returned to Sölde for a year before ending his career.
