Thomas Stewart (Bishop)
Thomas Stewart (born August 8, 1925 in Woodford , County Galway , Ireland , † October 30, 1994 in Ireland) was an Irish bishop and missionary.
He was ordained a priest for the St. Columban Mission Society on December 21, 1950 . In 1954 he was sent to the Korean Mission and was Vicar General of Chuncheon . Pope Paul VI appointed him Bishop of Chuncheon on February 1, 1966. On May 11, 1966 Antonio del Giudice , Apostolic Internuntius of Korea, donated him the episcopal ordination. Co- consecrators were Thomas F. Quinlan , former Bishop of Chuncheon, and Paul Marie Kinam Ro , Archbishop of Seoul . On May 21, 1994, Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation for health reasons. He died of a heart attack in October.
