Thomas Willmann

Thomas Willmann (* 1969 in Munich ) is a German writer , translator and freelance cultural journalist .

Life

Thomas Willmann is a studied musicologist. With a semester abroad in Los Angeles , he began an internship at the radio station Bayern4 Klassik . He works as a freelance cultural journalist, among others for film reviews , for daily newspapers such as Münchner Merkur and Tagesspiegel . At the same time, he occasionally worked as a lecturer at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and, since 2007, as a translator.

Willmann made his debut as a writer in 2010 with the novel Das sinstere Tal . The mixture of homeland novel and western was released in 2014 under the title of the same name after a production by Andreas Prochaska , and starring Sam Riley , Paula Beer and Tobias Moretti in German-language cinema.
