Thomas Wittmann

Thomas Wittmann (* 1963 in Munich ) is a German actor and speaker.

Life

Thomas Wittmann received his acting training at the Mozarteum in Salzburg .

His first theater engagement took him to the Burgtheater in Vienna in 1985 . From 1986 to 1995 he was director of Frank Patrick Steckel at the Schauspielhaus Bochum , in 1996 he came to the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus under the direction of Anna Badora and stayed there until 2006.

In the same year he appeared at the Berliner Ensemble under the direction of Claus Peymann in Schiller's Jungfrau von Orleans as King Charles the Seventh . He then played for two years at the Schauspiel Köln while Karin Beier was artistic director and in 2009 he joined the Berliner Ensemble as a permanent member.

Under the direction of Wilfried Schulz, he has been permanently engaged at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus again since 2016.

He worked u. a. with directors like Andrea Breth, Thomas Langhoff, Matthias Hartmann, Andreas Kriegenburg, Nicolas Stemann and above all with Jürgen Gosch, also in 2005 in his "Macbeth" production at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus.

He also works in film and television and appears as a speaker with various orchestras, in particular with the Berlin Philharmonic .
