Thomas Woddow

Thomas Woddow (born June 3, 1969 in Schwedt / Oder ) is a former German rower who ran for the German Democratic Republic until 1990 .

The 1.94 m tall rower from ASK Vorwärts Rostock won the Junior World Championships in 1986 together with Thomas Winkler in double sculls , and in 1987 Karsten Uth, Thomas Woddow, Sven Appel and Wieland Sternberg won the Junior World Championship in double sculls . In 1989 and 1990 Woddow won the GDR rowing championships with eighth . At the 1989 World Championships , Woddow finished second behind the Germany eight with the GDR eight . At the last appearance of the GDR rowing team in 1990 in Tasmania , Woddow won the World Championship bronze with the GDR eighth.

Starting in 1991 for the ORC Rostock , Woddow took second place in the four without a helmsman and in the eighth at the 1991 German rowing championships . At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, Michael Peter , Thomas Woddow and helmsman Peter Thiede rowed to fourth place in a pair with helmsman . In 1993 Peter, Woddow and Thiede won the title at the German championships, at the 1993 world championships Michael Peter, Thomas Woddow and helmsman Kuno Hochhuth took third place.
