Thomas Zander (soccer player)

Thomas Zander (* 10. August 1951 ) is a former German football - goalkeeper . He celebrated his greatest successes with Hertha BSC . With this club he was German runner- up in 1975 and third in the Bundesliga in 1971 .

From 1971 to 1976 he played with Hertha BSC in the 1st Bundesliga . From 1977 to 1979 he played with Wormatia Worms in the 2nd Bundesliga South and from 1979 to 1982 with TSV 1860 Munich in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga. He is the record holder with the most saved penalties (6) within a season (1979/80).

Overall, he played 161 times in the 1st Bundesliga and 99 times in the 2nd Bundesliga.

Later Thomas Zander was again active in the Bayern League with TSV 1860 Munich . From April 19, 1987 to October 31, 1987, he also took over the post of head coach from 1860.
