Thomas Zoglauer

Thomas Zoglauer (born January 30, 1960 in Remseck am Neckar ) is a German philosopher .

Life

1989 studied for a semester as a 'Visiting Scholar' at the Philosophy Department of Binghamton University . He completed his studies in mathematics, physics and philosophy at the University of Stuttgart with the 1st state examination in mathematics, physics, philosophy and a diploma in mathematics. After completing his doctorate in philosophy in 1991 at the University of Stuttgart, title of the dissertation: "The problem of theoretical terms - a critique of structuralist philosophy of science", he was a study assessor at the Lise Meitner grammar school in Remseck am Neckar from 1992 to 1993 . From 1990 to 1995 he worked in the Collaborative Research Center 230 ('Natural Constructions') at the University of Stuttgart (sub-project A1); Head of a working group that deals with problems of interdisciplinary model transfers. From 1990 to 1997 he was teaching philosophy at the University of Stuttgart. From 1993 to 2016 he was Academic Councilor at the BTU Cottbus. After his habilitation in 1997 (at the BTU Cottbus), the title of the habilitation thesis: “Conflicts of norms: On the logic and rationality of ethical argumentation”, he became a private lecturer at Brandenburg in 1999 . Technical University of Cottbus appointed. From April 2002 to March 2003 he was the C3 professor for philosophy of science at the University of Erfurt . In 2006 he was appointed adjunct professor at the BTU Cottbus . From 2011 to 2016 he was course director for the Bachelor course in Culture and Technology. In 2016, he was chairman of the examination board for the BA and MA courses in Culture and Technology, and was acting head of the areas of philosophy of technology and general technical sciences at the Institute for Philosophy and Social Sciences at BTU. Since 2018 he has been teaching at the Graduate Academy of the University of Stuttgart .
