Thommer Mill

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Thommer Mühle (also Feilenmühle or Klem-Mühle ) was a grinding mill on the Thommerbach in the Herl district in what is now the Trier-Saarburg district in Rhineland-Palatinate .

Today's Mühlweg in Thomm once led east to the Thommer Mühle. The site is located on Schiefer-Wackenweg and at about 345 meters above sea level.

On May 14, 1716, Abbot Nicetius from the Trier Benedictine monastery St. Maximin allowed Matthias Berrendts and other residents of Thomm to set up a grinding mill in the Thommer Grund. ( State Main Archive Koblenz )

According to Meyer's local and traffic lexicon, the Thommer Mühle had eight inhabitants in 1912/1913.

In June 1922, the Trierische Landeszeitung reported on the severe thunderstorms that caused great damage in Osburg , Thomm and the Feilenmühle .

The mill existed until the 1920s.
