The Thoreson Peak is a 1,200 m high mountain on the Scott Coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It is one of the highest peaks in the rocky cliffs on the south side of New Harbor and rises 5.1 km west-southwest of Stewart Peak .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 2000 after Ronald D. Thoreson, manager of the biological laboratory at McMurdo Station in the Antarctic winter of 1970.
