Thorolf Hager

Thorolf Hager (born December 8, 1942 in Holzkirchen) is a German surgeon .

Life

Hager studied medicine at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen , where he was awarded a Dr. med. received his doctorate . In 1973 he became a member of the Corps Guestphalia Erlangen . In 1982 he qualified as a professor for surgery at the medical faculty . From 1983 to December 2007 he was chief physician in the department for general and visceral surgery at the Frankenwaldklinik in Kronach . Since 1989 he has been an adjunct professor at the University of Erlangen.

The main focus of his scientific work was the treatment of intestinal diseases. He was a founding member and from 1990 to 1991 the first president of the German Society for Coloproctology . In recognition of his special services to clinical and scientific coloproctology , he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class in 2004.
