Three Identical Strangers is a documentary directed by Tim Wardle about the true story of identical triplets who happened to meet in New York in 1980 after they were separated at birth. The film premiered in January 2018 as part of the Sundance Film Festival .

Plot / content

In 1980, 19-year-old Robert Shafran and Edward Galland met at school in New York and quickly realized that they were twin brothers. A few months after their birth, they were separated, placed with and adopted by different families, only about 100 miles apart. When they make the acquaintance of the third brother in the group of identical triplets, namely David Kellman, the sensation is perfect. Together they are cast by Madonna for a film and open a restaurant in Soho called Triplets.

The film premiered in January 2018 as part of the Sundance Film Festival . On April 7, 2018, the film was shown at the San Francisco International Film Festival . It was released in selected US theaters on June 29, 2018.
