The Thrinaxodon Col is a rocky mountain pass in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . In the Cumulus Hills of the Queen Maud Mountains, it lies in the middle of a ridge that extends south from Rougier Hill .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named this saddle in 1971 at the suggestion of geologist David H. Elliot of the Institute for Polar Research at Ohio State University . It is named after the fossils of the Thrinaxodon , a mammal-like genus of extinct therapsids that were found here.
