The Thronbachtal nature reserve is located in the town of Schauenstein in the Hof district in Upper Franconia .

The 20.75 ha area with the number NSG-00114.01, which was placed under nature protection in 1978 , extends along the Thronbach to the south and east of Haidengrün , a district of Schauenstein.

It is a valley with typical plant communities of the meadow valleys of the Franconian Forest .
