Thubten Jigme Norbu
Thubten Jigme Norbu , recognized as Taktser Rinpoche ( Taktser ; born August 16, 1922 in Taktser, † September 5, 2008 in Indiana ) was a Tibetan lama , writer , civil rights activist and professor of Tibetan studies. Thupten Jigme Norbu, the eldest brother of the fourteenth Dalai Lama Tendzin Gyatsho , was one of the first high-ranking Tibetans in exile and a co-founder of the International Tibet Independence Movement . His autobiography Tibet - Lost Homeland was written down by Heinrich Harrer during Norbus' stay in Kitzbühel , Austria, in 1959 .
