Thulla Ridge is a mountain ridge on Signy Island in the Archipelago of the Southern Orkney Islands . It extends southeast of Tranquil Lake .

The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey took from 1947 to 1950 surveys before. The Royal Navy photographed it in 1968. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2004 based on the names of Thulla Cove and Thulla Point . It is named after the Norwegian steamer Thulla , which was used between 1911 and 1912 in the waters around the southern Orkney Islands to search for suitable anchorages for factory ships for whaling .
