Thulukhanam Shunmugham (born June 19, 1920 in Austin Town , † December 13, 2012 in Bangalore ) was an Indian football player.

Career

Thulukhanam Shunmugham attended Austin Town High School and RBANMS High School . He played Maharaja Socials and Bangalore Student Football Club during his career . As captain of the Mysore team, he won the Santosh Trophy in 1946 and 1952 .

At the first Asian Games in 1951 , he won the gold medal with the Indian team. A year later Shunmugham joined the Indian national team at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki. He later worked as a coach and led the Karnataka team to victory in the Santosh Trophy .

Shanmugham was a police officer in Mysore and served as a security officer for two governors for 35 years.
