Thurston Harris

Thurston Theodore Harris (born July 11, 1931 in Indianapolis , Indiana , † April 14, 1990 in Pomona , California ) was an American rhythm and blues singer.

Live and act

Harris became known in the early 1950s as the lead singer of the vocal group The Lamplighters , which performed in the South Central entertainment district of Los Angeles . In 1957 he managed a single major hit success with the Doo-Wop title Little Bitty Pretty One , which he recorded for Aladdin Records ; it rose to # 6 on the American pop charts. Harris then had smaller hits with Do What You Did and Runk Bunk in the late 1950s ; He also recorded in addition to the blues song One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer (1960) for Reprise ( Dancing Silhouettes ) and Dot Records ( Goddess Of Angels ). He died of a heart attack in 1990 at the age of 58 .
