Thymus camphoratus is a plant type from the genus of thyme ( Thymus ) in the family of Labiatae .

description

Thymus camphoratus is a small shrub that is 20 to 40 cm tall. It has upright to protruding, woody stems in whose armpits there are tufts of leaves . These are 3 to 5 mm long and 1 to 1.5 mm wide. They are stalked, narrowly ovate and hairy tomentose. The leaf margin is rolled back and not ciliated.

The inflorescences are composed of almost spherical, often stalked cymes 10 to 18 mm in diameter. The bracts broadly ovate and often purple. The calyx is 4 to 6 mm long, bell-shaped, the upper teeth are triangular-awl-shaped and mostly ciliate. The crown is whitish.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 30.

Occurrence

The species is common in the south and southwest of Portugal .
