Thymus willkommii a plant is art from the genus of thyme ( Thymus ) in the family of Labiatae .

description

Thymus willkommii is a small shrub that is woody at the base and forms long, slender, woody, upwardly curved to prostrate or creeping stems . The flower-bearing stems are 2 to 5 cm long and hairy all around. The leaves are 5 to 7 mm long and 2 to 3 mm wide. They are ovate to ovate-elliptical, hairless and also not ciliate at the base. The side veins are rather inconspicuous.

The flowers do not form a pronounced inflorescence . The false whorls consist of two to six flowers, occasionally stalked cymes appear. The flower stalks are 1 to 2 mm long. The bracts resemble the foliage leaves. The calyx is 4 to 5 mm long, the tube is almost cylindrical and about as long as the lips and sparsely hairy. The upper teeth are about 1 cm long, lanceolate and not ciliate. The crown is 6 to 7 mm long.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 56.

Occurrence and locations

The species occurs in northeastern Spain .
