Tideman Soling

Tideman Soling (* in Lübeck ; † 1436 ibid) was a German businessman and councilor of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck.

Life

Tideman Soling was a Lübeck merchant and son of a Lübeck citizen of the same name. He was elected to the Lübeck Council in 1428. In the same year he became the commander of the Lübeck fleet in the war against Denmark . In 1429 he became a member of the patrician circle society in Lübeck. He owned a water mill in Manhagen , which was operated as a grain and paper mill. Duke Johann V of Mecklenburg owed him 1,080 Mark Lübisch from a loan in 1435 . In Lübeck citizens' wills he is listed several times as a documentary witness and guardian .

Tideman Soling was married to a daughter of the councilor of the New Council before 1416, the Lübeck councilor Hinrich Hönerjeger.
