Tilemann Cragius (actually Krage ; * around 1520 in Lüchow ; † after 1577) was a German Lutheran theologian.

Life

He matriculated in the winter semester of 1537 at the University of Wittenberg as Tilomannus Krage and on February 8, 1542 acquired the academic degree of a master's degree . In 1546 he was pastor in Kiel , which pastorate he left in 1547 for unknown reasons. In August 1548 Krage was enrolled at the University of Rostock and in the same year also accepted into the artist faculty, which suggests that he also taught here. Then he stayed in Wittenberg for a long time . There his work On the Image of God in the First Man appeared in 1550 . About the disturbance and neglect of the image, about the Zeychen and the work of the newborn children of God. Kurtze declaration and confession, with a complaint to Germany , to which Philipp Melanchthon contributed a preface.

After working as a pastor in Lübeck , he became superintendent in Hildesheim in 1555 . There he got into an argument with his colleagues over dogmatic questions and was therefore dismissed from service by the city council in 1557. He then went to Northeim , where he also had to leave his office because of theological disputes. Molzen is known as his last station , where he signed the concord formula in 1577 . After that his way is lost.
