Debelak completed an FIS race for the first time in February 2007; in the giant slalom of Kranjska Gora he was eliminated in round two. In January 2010 Debelak drove for the first time in the European Cup when he was 62nd in the downhill from Les Orres . Debelak made his World Cup debut in December 2012; he was 51st in the Super-G of Beaver Creek and thus penultimate. After more than three years without a World Cup race, he returned to the World Cup in the Super-G in Hinterstoder in February 2016 and was 49th. In his third World Cup race in January 2017 in the combination of Wengen , he was the 26th to collect World Cup points for the first time. He finished the Combination World Cup 2016/17 in 38th place.
