Tilo von Stobenhain

Tilo Dietrich von Stobenhain († January 2, 1386 ) was Bishop of Samland .

The priest of the Teutonic Order was possibly pastor of Fischhausen from 1359 to 1363 and at the same time worked as a chaplain and notary of the Samland bishop Bartholomäus von Radam .

Although he is not a member of the Samland cathedral chapter , it elected him bishop in 1379. Already ordained bishop on February 2, 1379 by the bishop of Pomesanien, Johannes Mönch OT, he did not pay the servitia payments to the curia until the end of his life .

As bishop he promoted the colonization of his country and consecrated the new bishop of Ösel-Wiek, Winrich von Kniprode , at Whitsun 1385 in Königsberg .

Economically, he was apparently not in very good shape as a bishop, since at the end of September 1385 he returned a number of silver vessels to his cathedral chapter, which the latter had given him for life.

The bishop's grave is probably located in the Königsberg Cathedral .
