Tim Grotian (born February 10, 1998 in Darmstadt ) is a German biathlete .

Career

Tim Grotian's first major success was winning the German Youth Sprint title in the 2013/14 season. In 2018 he started internationally for the first time and was also able to qualify for the Biathlon Junior World Championships in Otepää . There he was able to show a very consistent performance and improve from race to race.

In the 2018/19 season, Grotian started continuously in the IBU Junior Cup. This season was to be the most successful of his career so far. At the Junior European Championships in Sjusjoen he was able to achieve a medal in every race. In the individual, Grotian even won the title of European Junior Champion. At the Biathlon Junior World Championships in Osrblie , Tim won the silver medal in the relay with Julian Hollandt, Danilo Riethmüller and Philipp Lipowitz. This season was also crowned by winning the big ball in the overall standings in the Junior Cup and the discipline ball in the sprint. In the individual and pursuit standings, he narrowly missed the ball and finished second.

He is a member of the customs ski team .
