Tim Kähler

Tim Kähler (born March 14, 1968 in Bremen ) is a German politician ( SPD ). He has been mayor of the East Westphalian Hanseatic city of Herford since 2014 .

Life

Tim Kähler studied political science and public law. After working in the European Parliament in Brussels and Strasbourg, he was a consultant at the Federal SGK in Bonn and Berlin. In 2004 he became head of the social affairs department in Bielefeld and in 2010 he was also first deputy mayor Pit Clausen .

He is married and has three children.

Mayor's office

On June 15, 2014, Tim Kähler was elected Mayor of Herford to succeed Bruno Wollbrink (SPD). He heads the Herford city administration, whose three departments report directly to him.

Other offices

Since September 18, 2018, Tim Kähler has been one of the representatives of the municipalities and municipal associations in the Association of Municipal Enterprises (VKU), State Group North Rhine-Westphalia . Within the party, he is an assessor in the Social Democratic Community for Local Politics (SGK) on the board of SGK NRW and district chairman of the SGK in the Herford district .
