Tim Sandtler

Tim Sandtler (born February 20, 1987 in Bochum ) is a German racing driver .

Career

Sandtler began his motorsport career in 1997 in kart racing , in which he was active until 2002. In 2003, Sandtler switched to formula racing and competed in two German Formula Renault races . In 2004 Sandtler switched to German Formula BMW . After he finished 17th overall in his debut season, he achieved three podium finishes in 2005 and improved to ninth place overall. In 2006 the young racing driver switched to the Formula 3 Euro Series for the French Racing team Signature-Plus . With one point he finished 18th in the drivers' championship at the end of the season. In 2007 Sandtler stayed in the Formula 3 Euro Series and competed for Jo Zeller Racing . This season the Bochumer managed to score eight points and he finished 16th overall.

In 2008 Sandtler left the Formula 3 Euro Series and switched to the international Formula Masters for the Czech ISR Racing team . With a third place as the best result, he finished 14th overall at the end of the season. He had his teammate Filip Salaquarda under control. In 2009 the German was not given a cockpit for the entire season and so he had to be content with guest starts in the Formula 3 Euro Series and in the German Formula 3 Cup .

In spring 2019, Sandtler was invited to test drives by the 10Q Racing Team from Augsburg. This was followed by several successful assignments a. a. on an AMG GT4 on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. For 2020 a deployment in the VLN endurance championship is planned together with the 10Q Racing Team.
