Tim Schwartz (born November 21, 1987 in Kirchheimbolanden ) is a German basketball player.

career

Schwartz made his second division debut for 1. FC Kaiserslautern in the 2005/06 season . With the team that later went to the Saar-Palatinate Braves , he stayed until the end of the 2009/10 season.

In June 2010 he was signed by Bundesliga club Gießen 46ers , but remained a supplementary player with limited time in his first season in the top German division. After a year in Hessen, he accepted Science City Jena's offer from the 2nd Bundesliga ProA . With the Thuringians he reached the playoff semifinals in 2013. The two years in Jena were followed by a year at BG Karlsruhe in the ProA, then Schwartz returned to the Bundesliga.

Both at the Artland Dragons Quakenbrück and the Crailsheim Merlins , his average playing time was less than ten minutes per game, as was the case in Giessen.

In July 2016, Schwartz was signed by another Bundesliga club, Basketball Löwen Braunschweig .

After the end of the 2017/18 game year, he resigned as a professional basketball player in order to work as a teacher in the future. He continued to play basketball as an amateur, and at the beginning of September 2018 he was  announced as a new addition to the regional league team BIS Baskets Speyer . He and the team won the championship title in the Regionalliga Südwest in the 2018/19 season and contributed to this success with an average of 13 points per mission.

National team

Schwartz completed international matches for the German A2 national team. In 2007 he took part in the B-EM in Poland with the U20 team of the German Basketball Federation .

Others

Schwartz completed a degree in sports and English for teaching at a grammar school, which he successfully completed in October 2015.
