Tymbrias ( Greek  Τιμβρίαδα ) or Tymbriada ( Τυμβρίαδα ), also Timbrias ( Τιμβρίας ) or Tymbrias ( Τυμβριάς ), was an ancient city in the northeastern Anatolian landscape Pisidia . It was located near the source of the Eurymedon in the area of today's Turkish İlçe Aksu in the province of Isparta , perhaps near the village of Akcaşar.

According to Strabo, Timbriada appeared in a list of the Pisidian cities by Artemidore of Ephesus . Some of the town's inscriptions have been preserved. They show that Timbriada was a full-fledged Greek polis in Roman times and, for example, sent embassies to the emperor in Rome.

In 2nd / 3rd In the 19th century, Timbriada also minted its own coins, which, among other things, showed the river god Eurymedon. A sanctuary was dedicated to this deity, which was located above the river in front of a cave and some remains of which have been preserved, including a bridge over the Eurymedon. A monumental staircase led from the bridge to the sanctuary. A marble statue was found near the cave which, according to the base inscription, represented the god Eurymedon. More recent excavations at the cave concerned the sanctuary of a mother goddess from the 2nd century.

In late antiquity the city was the seat of a Christian bishop. The titular bishopric of Tymbrias of the Roman Catholic Church goes back to the diocese .
