Timoléon d'Espinay, marquis de Saint Luc (* 1580 ; † 1644 in Bordeaux ) was a French military leader, Marshal of France and knight of the royal order.

Timoléon d'Espinay was the eldest of the four sons of François d'Espinay , seigneur de Saint Luc (1554–1597), Grand Maître de l'Artillerie de France (1596), and Jeanne de Cossé, daughter of Marshal Charles I. de Cossé, comte de Brissac .

On June 12, 1627 he married Marie-Gabrielle de Saint-Géran (* before 1596 at Château de La Palice - † March 29, 1632 in Paris) daughter of Jean-François de La Guiche , seigneur de Saint-Géran, comte de La Palice, Marshal of France.

In 1603 he accompanied Sully on his mission to London .

In 1621 he took part in the siege of Saint-Jean-d'Angély as Maréchal de camp .

In 1622, as Vice Admiral of France, he scored a few victories over the defenders of La Rochelle and forced the Huguenot leader Benjamin de Rohan to evacuate the islands of and Oléron .

In 1627 he was appointed Governor General of the Province of Guyenne and Marshal of France. He died in Bordeaux in 1644, his body was brought to Paris and buried in the Chapelle d'Orleans.
