Timothy Sylvester Harris (born December 6, 1964 in Tabernacle ) is a politician from St. Kitts and Nevis and has been Prime Minister since February 18, 2015.

Harris grew up in the village of Tabernacle on St. Kitts . He graduated from the University of the West Indies , where he received a BA in Accounting from the Camp Hill campus in 1998 . In 1992, he earned a Master of Science degree with honors in Accounting from the UWI campus in St. Augustine . In 2001, Concordia University in Montréal awarded him a Ph.D. in administration .

Harris was first elected to the St. Kitts and Nevis Parliament in 1993 for the St. Kitts-Nevis Labor Party (SKLP). He defended his parliamentary mandate in the following elections in 1995, 2000, 2004 and 2010. In the 2015 election, he ran for the newly formed People's Labor Party (PLP) and won constituency No. 7 on St. Kitts.

Harris held various ministerial posts, including foreign minister from 2001 to 2008, then finance minister and until his dismissal from the cabinet in January 2013 agriculture minister. After leaving the cabinet, he founded the People's Labor Party (PLP), which together with the People's Action Movement (PAM) and the Concerned Citizens 'Movement (CCM) with Harris' as the top candidate under the name Team Unity Alliance in the 2015 general election started. Team Unity received seven of the eleven seats in parliament and Harris, who won the only mandate for the PLP, replaced Denzil Douglas, who had been in office for 20 years, as Prime Minister on February 25, 2015 . In the new cabinet, Harris also assumed the office of Treasury Secretary.
