Timothy Joseph Lyne (born March 21, 1919 in Chicago , † September 25, 2013 there ) was auxiliary bishop in Chicago .

Life

Timothy Joseph Lyne, a child of Irish immigrants, entered the Quigley Preparatory Seminary in Chicago and studied philosophy, theology and history at the theological seminary at the University of Saint Mary of the Lake in Mundelein . He was ordained a priest in Chicago on May 1, 1943 . On October 31, 1983, he was appointed auxiliary bishop in Chicago and titular bishop of Vamalla by Pope John Paul II . The Archbishop of Chicago, Cardinal Joseph Louis Bernardin , ordained him bishop on December 13 of the same year; Co-consecrators were Alfred Leo Abramowicz , auxiliary bishop in Chicago, and Nevin William Hayes OCarm , auxiliary bishop in Chicago.

On January 24, 1995, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
