Tin Can Army , often abbreviated as TCA , was a hardcore punk band from Göttingen that existed from 1982 to 1987.
Band history
The band was founded in 1982 in Göttingen and recorded a demo . After the original plan of packing the demo in tin cans didn't work out, individual songs were released on samplers . The first release was a split LP in 1983 with the band Maniacs , which was created under difficult conditions. So the band had to travel to Berlin to record the album . However, the two days of studio time were shortened to one day because the studio was occupied at short notice. The recording is now considered unsuccessful, but due to its small number of copies, the album is in great demand among collectors. An EP followed in 1986 , before the band split up in 1987. In 1984 three contributions appeared for the sampler Harcore Power Music . In 1990 the song Guten Morgen BRD appeared on the first Schlachtrufe BRD sampler. The first demo was released in 2003 on the Kraftschwindel Records label .
reception
The demo recordings in particular are considered a cult today. In contrast to the recordings published on vinyl , these recordings are much harder and better recorded. The Ox-Fanzine described the band, which appeared quite rarely, as "Best German intelligent punk rockunderground, which is still gripping 20 years later."
